Shooting senior sessions takes me back to all the Big Emotions of that year — the eagerness for what’s next, the anxiety that the end of an era will arrive too fast, a “wisdom of years” that you’ll laugh at in a decade or two, and a debt of love for your guardians but a desire to move beyond their careful steering.
All of those emotions were there during Kaden’s gorgeous senior photo session, but there was a sense of “let’s do this and be done” that also underlies senior year. Despite that, Kaden hiked through all the woods, prairies, and shirt changes on a very warm fall evening. I credit his willingness to smile through it all to a deep love for his two incredibly sweet grandmas who joined us as a cheering section, styling crew, and traveling wardrobe. This was a fun session to the end — one last trek down to the lake for those golden hour gems.
