Originally, I was going to take some newborn shots of Lena, but the fullness of fall, the busyness of the holidays, a few poorly timed snowstorms and then a global pandemic and the year from hell that has been 2020 called for plan b: a first birthday shoot.
And in a way, I’m glad. Lena’s personality is now on full display as a happy, content, chill, and curious next-generation garden-lover. Her parents are good friends of mine and planted the most vibrant and fruitful gardens in their new yard. It didn’t take long for the plants to overtake Lena. While the garden was slowing down, we still got some of the most adorable kale bebe shots, then headed to Mineral Springs Park in Owatonna to get the whole family.
