Every time I come back to these wedding day photos of Bailey and Lindsay, I start smiling. I have never been to a wedding with non-stop laughter and endless hugs. Bailey and Lindsay are clearly a couple that love their people deeply, live life fully, and are committed to making this world better.
The wedding was at the Josephine Butler Park Center, right across the street from Meridian Hill Park. We lucked out with perfect D.C. November weather, even if a protest in the park did add a curveball into wedding party photos. Their wedding parties were the biggest cheerleaders, and when family showed up, I could see why these two women are who they are: loving, brilliant, curious, and warm-hearted. Everyone worked me into the fold as though I were family, as well.
Bailey and Lindsay have traveled extensively and moved around a lot, but it was clear from the wide network of people in attendance that no matter where they go, they root themselves and make new friends. Everyone involved in the day was somehow connected to the couple — the florist, the DJ, the pizza company (Lindsay used to work for them). The entire day was filled with meaningful touches — the pride donut flag, the vows, the rehearsed first dance, the special music — and stripped of everything else.
Not only was it fun to be part of their wedding day, I enjoyed getting to D.C. a few days early to explore where Bailey and Lindsay spent a lot of their lives together. I know that big things lie ahead for both of these smart, beautiful, and big-hearted women. Thank you both for letting me capture this beautiful day and the start of the next chapter.
