I’ve been an Airbnb host in two of my prior homes, and now in my current one. Airbnb is probably the app that as most changed my life. It enabled me to save enough for a downpayment on my first house, it’s helped me travel the world on a nonprofit salary, and it’s introduced me to so many cool people and places.
While I’m firmly against the property owners who use Airbnb to goggle up otherwise affordable housing options in a community, I do see it as a continuation of my belief in homesharing when it comes to Airbnb hosts renting out an extra room in an otherwise too-big house (our case). I also would prefer property owners open up their extra vacation properties to renters, rather than having homes sit vacant. That’s why I was so glad to get an inquiry to photograph a beautiful lake cabin close to Faribault for an updated Airbnb listing.
I immediately flagged this as a future family vacation spot for my own extended family after seeing it! It’s sun-filled, clean, has all the needed amenities, and is on a lovely lake without needing to drive several hours further north.
