This adorably sweet crew brought the best photo session energy. It’s a lot to ask anyone, let alone those under six, to put on nice clothes and go to a strange place without a jungle gym on a hot night to do what an (almost) stranger tells you to do. But clearly, these fine folks had been practicing their “cheeeeeeeeese!” They even (mostly) ignored the intense mountain bikers zooming by. Hot tip: Murphy-Hanrehan seems to be The Place for mountain biking.
Kalyn is my cousin who has been living in the northern half of the state, so I hadn’t even met little Macy yet. I was surprised — and delighted! — when I saw her curls, and also at how smitten her brothers were with her. I also missed her wedding, and so it was a joy to get to see that she and Andrew have seemingly grown together in a truly partnered kind of way.
Kalyn and Andrew, I’m so glad to have you in closer proximity and I can’t wait to spend more time with this really great trio you’ve been raising. Between this perfectly glowy late summer sun and Macy’s curls and cheeks and Dean’s shy but bubbly energy and Neil’s cheerful big brothering, this was such a dreamy, fun night. Hopefully these photos help coax grandma and grandpa back even sooner. :)
