In November 2019 we moved out of our wonderful apartment in South Minneapolis into our first house together. We now call the Green House in Northfield home. The thing that sold us: the abundance of light bouncing off the tall ceilings.
With stuff still in boxes, my friend Miranda and I finally found a free hour to snap some headshots as the light quickly faded. You wouldn’t know how fast I kept us darting around the house, trying to find some reflections that would still show off what a charming, warm and capable person she is by how she still exuded all of those features in these shots. She kept me laughing when it’s supposed to be my job to put her at ease.
Miranda and I bonded easily over our love for the rural communities we both call home and an affinity for the vernacular architecture that dots those landscapes. Miranda is living one of my sister ship lives as an architectural designer, currently based out of Austin, Minnesota. She even followed me into ankle-deep snow and both of our noses turned red immediately.
I can’t wait for another photoshoot with this lovely person, next time on her family’s homestead down in Houston County. For now, enjoy these, the product of the first photoshoot in our new home!
